We are nearing the end of our kitchen renovation journey and as I began organizing things in the pantry I needed to find a quick solution for organizing spices. If you’re anything like me you hate the plastic bottles that seasonings come in. I wanted to figure out a way to make them look pretty in the pantry but also functional. My goal for the pantry was for it to be so organized that I could easily find exactly what I was looking for. Labels were going to be the easiest way for me to achieve that.
I tried searching on google but everything I found you had to pay for and then have it shipped but I needed something immediately. So I decided to create and print my own. I wanted a clean simple label that was clear and easy to read. So I went to working using Canva to create my labels.
Finding the perfect spice container:
I was looking for the perfect spice jar but after reading reviews on many of them on the market none of them were big enough to hold the entire store bought bottle of spice. So I finally settled on using mason jars. I have so many mason jars of all different sizes so for each bottle of spice I had I would decide how big of a jar was needed to make it all fit. I ended up using a variety of jar sizes.
Putting the pantry labels on:
I used clear packaging tape to secure the labels. When cutting the labels out I left a little bit of white boarder around the black trim for a cleaner look. When I was taping each label I ensured that the label was as straight as I could get it and completely covered.
I think they turned out perfectly if I do say so myself and now I have a clean, organized pantry.
FAQs
I used clear max strength packaging tape. I covered the entire label with tape and ensured none of the bare label was showing.

Yes. If you use the clear packaging tape like I used and ensure that the entire label is covered then you can hand wash the jars. Do not submerge the labels to soak, they will come off.
No. If you use the clear packaging tape they are not dishwasher safe. They should only be hand washed.
Run hot water in a sink basin. Allow the jars to soak for 5 minutes or until the tape begins to release from the jar.
