  • Parchment paper – The parchment paper will keep the excess oil from getting on the cast iron dutch oven and smoking or making your dutch oven sticky.

  • 5 medium-sized Potatoes – I like to use Idaho potatoes or russet potatoes. 
  • Coarse salt
  • Olive oil

Dutch Oven Baked Potatoes In The Oven

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.

3. Line Dutch oven with parchment paper. Place potatoes in Dutch oven on parchment paper evenly spaced. Pour a generous amount of olive oil on each potato and coat with a generous coating of salt or any other spices.

4. Put the lid on the Dutch oven and place in 400°F for about 75 minutes or until they are fork tender. Depending on the number and size of the potatoes you use you may need to increase or decrease the time.
