Meet Sarah from Lewis Acres Homestead

Hello, I’m Sarah!

It’s so nice to meet you!

My journey to homesteading started with a longing for a slower, simpler life. I wanted out of the hustle and bustle of daily life. I wanted land where we could put roots down. Where we could learn the basics of homesteading, grow our food, and rely less on outside sources.

My husband, Ben, and I bought a run down farm of 34 acres with several old barns and an early 1900’s farmhouse in August of 2021. It allowed us to put down roots and begin our dream of homesteading.

Homesteading, to me, is more than just a lifestyle; it’s about reconnecting with nature, being self-sufficient, and rediscovering the traditional skills that have failed to be passed from generation to generation. This blog is a window into my world – a place where I share my experiences, triumphs, and challenges as I navigate the rewarding path of homesteading.

From starting a vegetable garden, raising chickens, cows, and pigs, to preserving food, and making meals from scratch, each post is a chapter in our ongoing journey of homesteading. But this blog isn’t just about what I do; it’s about what we can learn together. It’s a space for sharing knowledge, inspiring each other, and building a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for a simpler, more sustainable way of life.

Welcome to my homesteading journey – where every day is an opportunity to cultivate happiness from the ground up.

So, whether you’re an experienced homesteader, an aspiring green thumb, or simply curious about this way of life, I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s learn, grow, and thrive together in our journey to living a more simple, sustainable life.
